Eileen Power Biography
A native of Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry, Eileen McSweeney (as she was then) worked as a telephonist in Dungarvan Telephone Exchange. There she met Donal, a Post Office Clerk and settled in Abbeyside. They have three children, Niamh, Emmet and Cliodhna who perform on the CD. Eileen comes from a long tradition of Irish music in the Sliabh Luachra area and she regularly sings and plays tin whistle. The tune ‘Sonny Sweeneys’ is named after her father who was a well known fiddle player in Kerry.
